MUDBOX and MUSTARD are two powerful xtras for Marcomedia's multiuser
server that allow developers to create applications that connect to external databases. The
impetus to design these xtras came from conversations with other Director developers
and a series of projects that required complex database connectivity, along with
multiuser functionality. It soon became apparent to us just how useful database
multiuser xtras could be: developers can connect to a single database for both
their multiuser functions and other dynamic functions. Additionally, no xtra is
needed for the Director application. That means you don't need to worry about
forcing your users to download an xtra for your shockwave applications. All functionality
is accomplished via Macromedia's multiuser xtra. The database functionality is
added on the server-side. We've done our very best to provide clear documentation
and to test our xtras on a wide range of platforms and databases. If you have
any problems installing or using our xtras, please email us at xtras@smartpants.com. We
look forward to your feedback and ideas. Feel free to let us know how MUSTARD
or MUDBOX has helped you, or to request new features. |
