SchoolCast is a new product that allows schools to broadcast video of events and activities over the Internet. SchoolCast can also be used as a full-scale surveillance system for local or off-site monitoring of school facilities and students.

With SchoolCast your school can now broadcast live or recorded video of sporting events, classroom demonstrations and other activities, easily and inexpensively. This system allows the school to develop their own content and programming schedule for a virtual TV station on the web.

The School Cast system will consist of mobile and/or permanently placed cameras setup in specific locations. Mobile cameras can include a video camcorder filming events by individuals. Permanent cameras will consist of video (surveillance) cameras fixed to a wall, structure or natural location.

These cameras will transmit, via the SchoolCast system, real time video to users who have signed up to receive this service. Users will receive a dedicated application that can be viewed on personal or laptop computers with Internet access. This video can also be recorded as the event transpires for future viewing and playback.

Moreover, all the video and pictures that have been captured and recorded can be used later for promotional or yearbook applications. Imagine broadcasting graduation live over the Internet and then creating a DVD highlight reel of the ceremony.

All video and pictures aired through SchoolCast will be securely transmitted over the Internet. Only users with the appropriate customized software (delivered via CD-ROM or Website download) and a correct user-name and password will have access to this content.
